• Describe item condition truthfully (new, like new, gently used, fair, etc.)
• Disclose any damage, defects, or issues upfront
• Use clear, recent photos
• Don't mislead about what's included in the trade

Respect Other Traders

Treat every interaction with kindness and respect. Remember there's a real person on the other side of each trade.

• Respond to inquiries promptly and professionally
• Don't engage in harassment or hostile communication
• Respect people's time and schedules
• Cancel or reschedule if you need to—just communicate clearly

Trade Safe and Legal Items Only

Prohibited items on Trade Local include weapons, alcohol, illegal items, stolen goods, and items that could pose safety hazards.

• No weapons, firearms, or ammunition
• No alcohol or controlled substances
• No counterfeit goods
• No stolen or recalled items
• No services—only physical items

Meet Safe and Follow Through

Always meet in public places during daylight hours. Once you agree to a trade, honor that commitment.

• Meet in well-lit, public places
• Bring someone if you feel unsafe
• Verify items work before trading
• Follow through on agreed trades
• If plans change, communicate immediately

Violations and Consequences

We take these guidelines seriously. Violations may result in:

• Listing removal
• Temporary account suspension
• Permanent account removal
• Reporting to law enforcement if illegal activity is suspected
